      Influenza A Virus H1N1 (Swine)

Efficacy of Disinfectant Unisafe + against influenza A virus H1N1 in a quantitative
suspension test at 20°C following EN 14476:2007-02

      EXPERT OPINION

This expert opinion is based on the test report SW09ML840SI dating 25.08.2009.
The virus-inactivating properties of the surface cleanser Disinfectant Unisafe + of Unico /
Scottish Fine Soaps against influenza A virus H1N1 (swine) were investigated by a
quantitative suspension test following EN 14476:2007-02 under clean conditions.

According to this suspension test, a disinfectant or a disinfectant solution at a particular
concentration is considered as having virus-inactivating properties if within the recommended
exposure period the titre is reduced by ≥ 4 log10 (inactivation ≥ 99.99 %).

Disinfectant Unisafe + was examined as 1.25 %, 12.5 % and 80.0 % solutions at 20°C.
One and five minutes were chosen as contact times. In summary, a virucidal activity against
H1N1 was measured as follows:

      1.25 % 1 minute

Higher concentrations also fulfil the requirements of the EN 14476.
